Missouri's McGrane Having a Memorable Second Half

How good has Missouri’s Ed McGrane been in 2012.  After a one goal, one assist performance on new Year’s Eve, McGrane has been on fire for the Mavericks helping them to a 12-3-1 record since the turn of the new year.

McGrane was one of the most highly discussed signings of the off-season inking a deal with Missouri after playing outside the CHL last season.

Prior to that, the Hamilton, Ontario native was a mainstay with the Colorado Eagles playing five straight seasons in Northern Colorado totaling 136 goals and 211 assists in 261 games.  His final year with the Eagles may have been his best as he scored 44 goals.

McGrane also adds great experience for the post-season as he has 33 goals and 65 points in 60 career CHL Playoff contests.

With the Mavs, McGrane got to a bit of a slow start by his standards scoring just nine goals in his first 25 games, two game winning goals.

Since Dec, 31, the 5-11, 191-pound forward has been one of the best players in the CHL totaling 13 goals over a 17 game stretch.  His most productive period has been recent with goals in six of his last seven games (eight total goals).

McGrane leads the Mavs with 22 goals and is second on the club with 48 points as Missouri is tied for second place in the Turner Conference.
