Down 1-0 in their best-of-7 Opening Round series against the Rapid City Rush, the Fort Wayne Komets struck for two late goals to beat the Rush 3-1 and even the series at one win apiece. The series now shifts to Fort Wayne for the next three games.
Nick Boucher made 30 saves earning the win and Colin Chaulk scored the game winning goal with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.
The Komets scored the only goal of the opening period with Kaleigh Schrock scoring his first goal of the series at the 3:08 mark assisted by Jean-Michel Rizk and Stephon Thorne.
The home team Rush would tie the defensive battle with Jesse Schultz scoring his third goal in two nights beating Boucher just 49 seconds into the second period.
The game would stay tied at one and appear headed to overtime before Chaulk stunned the Rush with his second goal of the series. Brett Smith added an empty-net goal taking the series back to Indiana evened up.
Tim Boron made 24 saves for the Rush but he takes the loss.
