What a run so far in the post-season for Missouri goaltender
Charlie Effinger who is a perfect 5-0 allowing no more than two goals in any game.
Effinger has turned away 174 of 182 shots, good for a .956 save percentage.
Last night, the Mavs netminder and team MVP was spectacular making 38 saves on 40 shots giving his team a chance to take Game 1 of their series against the Fort Wayne Komets.
Success is nothing new to the 26-year-old Effinger who in 78 career regular season CHL games carries a 49-21-5 record with a 2.63 GAA and a .921 career save percentage.
This past season, the Belleville, Illinois native was a finalist for the CHL Most Outstanding Goaltender award with a 32 win regular season and a .923 save percentage.
So far in the post-season, Effinger has seen a lot of rubber seeing no fewer than 29 shots and facing 36 or more shots in four of the five games.
The Mavs will look to continue to ride Effinger in Game 2 on Saturday night in Fort Wayne.
