Ed McGrane leading their charge in their best-of-7 Turner Conference Finals series with the Fort Wayne Komets.
The Mavs have two chances to close out the series with their 3-2 series lead and Game 6 on Tuesday night in Fort Wayne and a potential Game 7 on Thursday night in Fort Wayne.
McGrane has scored many big playoff goals in his career and is adding to his resume this season, his first with the Mavericks.

Entering this year’s playoffs, the Hamilton, Ontario native had scored 33 goals in 60 career CHL playoff games (including five game winning goals and two overtime winners). All of his post-season action came with the Colorado Eagles with his best push being in 2007 where he scored 11 goals with 16 assists in 25 post-season games (Colorado defeated Laredo in the Finals).
In this year’s playoffs, McGrane has scored a goal in eight of the Mavs nine playoff games tying him with Wichita’s R.G. Flath for the most goals in the 2012 playoffs. McGrane is currently on a five-game goal scoring streak netting a score in each of Missouri’s playoff games in their series with Fort Wayne. Three times in the playoffs, McGrane has netted the first goal of the game (twice in the series with the Komets).
The 5-11, 191-pound forward had a tremendous regular season with 27 goals and 47 assists in 63 games and during his CHL career he has netted 442 points (177-265=442) in 348 regular season games.
A longer run for the Mavs in this year’s playoffs could be determined by how well the veteran goes during the rest of the post-season.
