Michel Beausoleil of the Oklahoma City Blazers and Dov Grumet-Morris of the Laredo Bucks have been selected as the respective recipients of the Oakley Central Hockey League Player and Goaltender of the Week awards for Week 13 of the CHL season. Beausoleil enjoyed a dominant offensive week with seven goals and four assists in three contests to earn Player of the Week selection, while Grumet-Morris picked up a pair of victories, including a 27-save shutout, to garner Goaltender of the Week honors.
Beausoleil, who finished last season with 45 goals for Oklahoma City, was a major force in three games for the Blazers last week. He scored twice and added two assists in a 5-4 loss in Memphis January 13th, and added another goal and an assist in a 8-6 home win over Colorado on January 15th. His biggest outburst came January 14th in a 7-5 loss in Tulsa, figuring in on all five Blazers scores with four goals and an assist. His four goals tied a CHL season high, matching the outing of Youngstowns Jeff Christian on November 4th in the SteelHounds 4-3 home opening win over Oklahoma City.
Rookie Grumet-Morris wins his third Goaltender of the Week honor this season after a pair of sterling performances in Laredo wins. He picked up his second shutout of the season by making 27 saves in a 2-0 home victory over Austin on January 11th, then nabbed his eighth win of the year with 17 saves in a 6-1 victory at Memphis on January 14th. His near perfect week has propelled him into second place in the CHLs goals against race at 2.28, trailing only teammate David Lemanowicz at 1.88, while also moving into 10th position in the CHL with a .913 save percentage.
