The Missouri Mavericks and host Fort Wayne Komets will put it all on the line at 6:30 p.m. tonight as the two teams meet in Game 7 of the best-of-seven Turner Conference championship series.
The Mavericks have never played in a Game 7 but they have faced a deciding game twice in their brief history, winning Game 3 in their best-of-three opening round series against the Mississippi RiverKings in 2010 and beating the Wichita Thunder in Game 5 of their best-of-five conference semifinals in 2011.
The first Game 7 of the 2012 Ray Miron Presidents Cup is a toss-up, as the Mavericks looked unbeatable in last Saturday’s 5-2 Game 5 win at the Independence Events Center. But the Komets rebounded to claim a 4-1 decision in Game 6 Tuesday night victory in Fort Wayne that set up tonight’s conference championship finale.
