Scoring Changes from Game's 1 and 2

As is the case in the CHL Finals, all goals are reviewed for scoring accuracy and sometimes changes need to be made.  This is the case with two scoring plays from this past weekend in Game’s 1 and 2 of the CHL Finals between the Fort Wayne Komets and the Wichita Thunder.

In Saturday’s game, a 5-3 Komets win, Wichita defenseman Kevin Young has been credited with an assist on the Thunder’s first goal scored at the 5:04 mark of the second period by Garett Bembridge.  The assists now go to Young and Alex Bourret.

For Young, this now gives him nine points (3-6=9) in 13 playoff games this year.

In Sunday’s game, it was originally scored that Fort Wayne’s sixth goal scored at 9:46 of the third period was tapped in by Chris Auger after a wrap around attempt by Mile Vaskivuo.  Upon review, Auger did not touch the puck and the goal is now correctly listed as Vaskivuo’s, unassisted.

This gives Vaskivuo two goals in the game and eight in the post-season (to go with 11 assists).

Auger loses the goal giving him nine goals and 10 assists in the playoffs tying him with Vaskivuo for the league lead in the post-season.
