Komets defenseman Brent Henley has two passions, and unfortunately, Saturday they are in conflict.
While the Komets are preparing to play Game 4 of the Central Hockey League's Presidents' Cup Finals against Wichita, the 2012 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes will be taking place at Franke Park. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the walk at 10:30 a.m. Though he deals with diabetes and is the honorary chairperson for the walk, Henley will be unable to attend because the Komets' practice starts at 10 a.m.
``The only cause that is more important to me than the JDRF is this team and winning,'' Henley said. ``Unfortunately, it falls on the biggest game of the year for us. There's practice and preparations on game day I know I can't stray from. I know it will be a great event without me there and will be fine. I really wish I could be there, and I'd like to thank all the sponsors and everybody who does show up. It's been fantastic being involved with it.''
