Jim Wiley
Director of Hockey Operations
Jim is entering his fourth year with the CHL league office being named the Director of Hockey Operations in September/2008. In his role, Jim oversees all the day-to-day operations relating to the hockey operations of all teams in the CHL and at the league level. He also is in charge of all league discipline.
Jim has been in professional hockey for 38 years serving in various capacities including coaching, scouting and administration. The former NHL player (Pittsburgh and Vancouver) coached at the highest possible level serving as the bench boss for the San Jose Sharks during the 1994-95 season. Jim has coached two separate teams in the CHL, the Memphis RiverKings (2002-03) and the Amarillo Gorillas (2005-07).
Jim, a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, attained his undergraduate degree from Lake Superior State University and Masters Degree in Athletic Administration from Tulsa University. Jim and his wife Chris have their principle residence in Fort Smith, AR near son Jim Jr., daughter-in-law Tiffanee and two grandsons (Tanner and Ty).
