The New Mexico Scorpions picked up their first win of the season Wednesday night, knocking off the previously undefeated Youngstown SteelHounds 5-4 in overtime at the Santa Ana Star Center. Aaron MacInnis provided the heroics with his first goal of the season 1:51 into the extra period. The SteelHounds still pick up a point, dropping to 4-0-1 on the season.

After having never led to date this season, the Scorpions held three separate one goal leads but trailed 4-3 midway through the third period when Mike Falk connected on his second power play goal of the night. Mike Prpich and Ryan McLeod scores the first two Scorpions goals, while Joey Sewell was the standout for the Steelhounds, scoring twice and adding two assists for a four point night.
