After a one week absence, the Colorado Eagles have pushed ahead of the Memphis RiverKings and reclaimed the top ranking in the CHL Coachs Poll. Three Eagles victories over the past week coupled with a 1-1-1 week for Memphis swayed voters to give Colorado the #1 spot for the third time in four weeks. The Eagles have been particularly dominant at home on Budweiser Events Center ice, winning 10 straight after dropping their home season opener 5-4 to Rocky Mountain.
The Oklahoma City Blazers maintained their #3 rank this week, while the Laredo Bucks (up to #4) and the Youngstown SteelHounds (down to #5) swapped positions. The Tulsa Oilers, 6-0-1 in their last seven outings, had the biggest jump this week, moving from #10 into #6. The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (into #8) and the Corpus Christi Rayz (into #9) rejoin the Top 10 after not ranking last week.
Each week throughout the season the CHL will release the results of the Coaches Poll. Each first place selection earns 10 points, second place earns 9 points, etc. Coaches cannot vote for their own team, creating a potential perfect score of 160 points should one club receive all 16 possible first place votes.
