(Team Press Release) The Tulsa Oilers and head coach Butch Kaebel have agreed on a contract extension that will keep Kaebel in place as the Oilers head coach for the 2007-08 season. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
We are glad to have Butch return and have guaranteed him we will make every resource available like every other CHL team, so that the Oilers are a competitive team on the ice, general manager Corey MacIntyre said. We are also working on a plan for our fans that we will make public shortly. This plan will allow season ticket holders to release their seats if they arent happy with the on ice product.
Kaebel will be entering his fourth full season as the Oilers head coach. He took over midway through the 2003-04 season, coaching his first game on Christmas night that season. His career record is 103-97-26. Im delighted to have this settled and appreciate the confidence Corey and Mr. Lund (Oilers president Jeff Lund) have in the direction of the team. Weve got a lot of good things happening here, and Im delighted to be part of it, Kaebel said.
