The Laredo Bucks enjoy a 2-0 series lead over Corpus Christi in their best of seven game Southern Conference Semifinal series following a dramatic 5-4 double overtime win at the Laredo Entertainment Center Tuesday evening. Bucks rookie All-Star Chris Korchinski ended the longest game in franchise history for both clubs 15:34 mark of the second overtime, converting a nifty feed from Leo Thomas, stationed behind the Corpus Christi net.

Laredo Leads Series 2-0
The Bucks won game 2 despite trailing by two goals on three separate occasions and significant penalty trouble in both overtime periods. Third period goals by Neil Clark and James Hiebert erased the Rayz 4-2 lead and force overtime, where Corpus Christi enjoyed four consecutive power play chances. Korchinksi finally ended the marathon on a Laredo power play, ripping home the Thomas pass behind Rayz goaltender Ron Vogel for his second goal of the post-season. Korchinski earned first star honors after earlier adding a pair of assists, while Derrick McIver (two goals) and Justin Quenneville (goal and an assist for his first two playoff points) paced the Rayz attack. Laredo nearly won the contest late in the first overtime when Hiebert was pulled down on a breakaway and awarded a penalty shot at the 14:08 mark. Hiebert tried to slip the puck five hole, but Vogel responded with a terrific stick save.
The clubs take a brief respite with a day off Wednesday before the series shifts to Corpus Christis American Bank Center for games 3 and 4 on Thursday and Friday night.
