Despite trailing their Southern Conference semifinal series to Laredo 3-0, including a pair of devastating losses in overtime, the Corpus Christi Rayz came out Friday night with a first rate home effort and blanked the Bucks 3-0 to force a Game 5 Sunday at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The Rayz victory also halts Laredos post-season winning streak at seven games.
Game 4 Box Score: Laredo 0 @ Corpus Christi 3
Laredo Leads Series 3-1
Ron Vogel stole the show Friday, making 34 saves against the Bucks to record the fourth shutout of the CHL playoffs. Justin Quenneville (3rd), Nicklas Lindberg (4th) and Derrick McIver (6th) provided the offense for Corpus Christi, despite only managing 16 total shots on Laredo starter Kevin Reiter. Having now completed a stretch of four games in five nights, the teams will enjoy an off day Saturday before returning to the ice Sunday in Laredo. The win gives the Rayz their first step of four towards becoming the first team in CHL/WPHL history to come back to win a seven game series after trailing 3-0.
