(Team Release) - The Central Hockey League Champion Colorado Eagles today announced the re-signing of forward Chris Hartsburg and that Director of Media and Community Relations Patrick Armstrong has taken a job with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
Hartsburg, a CHL All-Star right-winger and the 2005 CHL Playoff MVP, will return for his fourth season with the Eagles. The Colorado College alum posted a career high in goals (29), assists (35), points (64) and penalty minutes (106) in the 2006-07 season. Hartsburg finished the regular season as the fourth leading scorer on the team, but played in only three playoff games as his postseason was cut short by injury.
"Chris played an integral part in our championship season," said assistant coach Ryan Bach. "He possesses a burning desire to win and realizes that is what the Eagles organization is all about."
Armstrong, 27, has taken a job with the Minnesota Wild's primary affiliate, the Houston Aeros of the AHL, as the team's Director of Communications. He spent four seasons with the Eagles as their Director of Media and Community Relations, where he was named 2005 Public Relations Executive of the Year for the CHL. Thursday, September 20th will be his last day with the defending champs and he will begin work in Houston on Monday, September 24th.
"I want to thank the Eagles for the opportunity to work for such an outstanding organization for the past four seasons," said Armstrong. "I will take with me many wonderful memories and friends as I move to the next step of my career."
