Mudbugs Remain Hot With 2-1 Victory Over Corpus Christi
Despite seeing his personal shutout streak come to an end early in the first period, Bossier-Shreveport’s John DeCaro still was outstanding allowing just the one goal in the Mudbugs 2-1 victory over the Corpus Christi Rayz on Tuesday night at the CenturyTel Center. The win was the fourth straight for DeCaro allowing just two goals during his winning run. His shutout streak ends at 135:12. The loss for the Rayz was their fourth straight.

The Rayz started the scoring early on with a power play goal by Kevin Watters at the 2:43 mark of the first period. The Mudbugs responded three minutes later with Tyrel Lucas scoring his fourth goal of the season.
Bossier-Shreveport took the lead for good just 22 seconds into the second period when Chris Brassard scored his fourth goal of the season, it would prove to be the game winner. The game was the seventh one-goal game of the season for the Mudbugs (2-4-1).
DeCaro finished the night with 23 saves improving his record to 4-3-1 and lowering his goals against average to 1.86, second lowest in the CHL (Laredo’s Kevin Beech, 1.72).
The Mudbugs head to Youngtown for a pair of games this weekend against the league’s top team, the SteelHounds (12-1-1). Corpus Christi heads to Texas for a game tomorrow night versus the Brahmas.
