RiverKings Spoil Weingartner Coaching Debut
The Wichita Thunder (4-14-0) had much different ideas of what Head Coach Rob Weingartner’s debut would be like but that vision did not come to fruition as the Mississippi RiverKings (14-6-1) struck for three first period goals and cruised to a 4-0 victory at the DeSoto Civic Center.

Sebastien Centomo made21 saves tying for the CHL lead with three shutouts. The RiverKings netminder is 10-4-1 on the season.
Rick Kozak scored a pair of first period goals and Louis Dumont netted his second of the season all on Wichita’s Jon Horrell. The Thunder goaltender faced 37 shots and made 33 saves as he is winless in six starts this season.
Chad Woollard scored his 13th goal of the season in the second period giving Mississippi some insurance and Steve Makway contributed three assists on the night.
With the win, the RiverKings pull to within two points of Youngstown for first place in the Northeast Division. The loss is the fourth straight for Wichita who was playing for the first time with Weingartner behind the bench. Mark French was dismissed as the team’s head coach on Sunday.
