Blazers Squeak Past Oilers, 3-2
It's sometimes said hockey is a game of inches. It was more like one inch that made the difference in a 3-2 Oklahoma City Blazer win over the Tulsa Oilers Saturday night. Ryan Watson's shot with just over four minutes to play crept over the goal line by about an inch, for the winning goal.
The teams had traded goals with D.J Jiletto and Mike Burgoyne, doing the honors for Oklahoma City. Lucas Burnett and Warren McCutcheon answered each of those goals with one of his own.
McCutcheon's goal stretched his league high goal scoring streak to seven games. Jeff Christian also extended the league's current longest assist streak to seven games.
The Oilers begin a six game road trip, starting Christmas night at Oklahoma City at 7:35 p.m. The game can be heard on KRVT AM 1270 and via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com.
