Oklahoma City 5 @ Mississippi 4 (SO)
Ryan Watson scored his second shootout game winner in less than a week as the Blazers won a big road game dealing a blow to the playoff hopes of the RiverKings. Sean Connors made 30 saves earning the win.
Colorado 3 @ Rocky Mountain 4 (SO)
The Rage pulled a point closer to the Northwest Division leading Eagles with a shootout win in game one of a home-and-home-series that will continue tomorrow night at the Budweiser Events Center. Brent Cullaton scored the game winning shootout goal and Scott Reid made 28 saves earning the victory. Sebastien Laplante made 40 saves earning a point for the Eagles whose lead is now one point over Rocky Mountain.
New Mexico 4 @ Arizona 5 (OT)
The Sundogs increased their Southwest Division lead to four points after a comeback win versus New Mexico. The Scorpions led 4-2 in the third period before Cory Urquhart and Chris Bartolone scored to tie the game and send it to overtime where Tyler Liebel took a loose puck in front of the net and got the win.
Tulsa 2 @ Amarillo 6
David Nimmo had his third hat trick of the seasons coring all three goals in the third period breaking open the otherwise competitive game. Nimmo, one of the five finalists for CHL Rookie of the Year has 15 points in his last four games. Bill Vandermeer scored twice for Amarillo.
Odessa 1 @ Texas 4
The Brahmas improved to 21-5-1 in their last 27 games and in the meantime jumped past the idle Youngstown SteelHounds for second place in the Northeast Division. David Cacciola made 37 saves winning for the 24th time this season. The loss was the fifth straight for the slumping Jackalopes.
Bossier-Shreveport 7 @ Rio Grande Valley 3
The Mudbugs scored four goals in a 1:59 stretch of the first period to take the early lead and hold on in the Bees annual Kid’s Day Game. Jason Campbell and Kevin Cooper each had two goals and John DeCaro won his league-leading 24th game of the season.
