A veteran of more than 300 CHL games, Jason Baird was having a typical off-season until last week when an accident burned him severely and currently has him in an Ohio hospital fighting for his life.

Baird, 28, played last season with the Youngstown SteelHounds scoring 13 goals with 23 assists in 45 games. He was traded to the Hounds from the Corpus Christi Rayz midway through the season. With the Rayz, he had been a serious offensive threat scoring 147 points (48 goals) in parts of four seasons.
