Friday Night's Spotlight
The hottest team in the CHL could be the Texas Brahmas (7-3-1) who begin a big three-game weekend with games tonight at Wichita (4-7-1), tomorrow at home versus Tulsa (3-6-1) and then Sunday at Oklahoma City (9-1-2). The Brahmas have won three straight games and have enjoyed home ice posting a 5-1-0 record at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
The man leading the way for the Brahmas may be a bit unlikely in rookie Pete Rouleau. The first-year player has three goals and five assists in his last five games. A pair of defensemen have been making their presence felt as well with Kevin McLeod (four points in his last five games) and Justin Kinnunen (six points in his last five games).
Last season’s great run to close the season for Texas was led by great goaltending and this season it has been more of the same. Brett Jaeger has been logging most of the time posting a 5-1-1 record, while David Cacciola is 2-2-0.
The Brahmas have been re-assigned Jason Deitsch from the Houston Aeros of the AHL. Deitsch had two goals and five assists in his 10 games in the AHL.
Veteran Lance Galbraith has been placed on the suspended list by the Brahmas.
