HAT TRICKS FOR KIDS PROGRAM PARTNERS WITH STARLIGHT CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION
CHL Players Help Send Money To Seriously Ill Children In Need
The Central Hockey League announced today that the Starlight Children’s Foundation will be the recipient of the money raised through the Hoffen Foundation with the CHL’s Hat Trick for Kids program. The money will be given to Starlight at the conclusion of the regular season to help seriously ill children and their families cope with the challenges of prolonged illness.
Prior to the start of the 2008-09 CHL regular season, the league announced the Hat Tricks for Kids program that reflected a partnership with Infinity Pro Sports and the CHL. The program will see Infinity Pro Sports donate $25.00 to the Hoffen Foundation for every hat trick scored throughout the 512-game regular season schedule.
“When children become seriously ill or injured, the joys of childhood are put on hold,” said Paula Van Ness, CEO of Starlight Children’s Foundation. “Infinity Pro Sports and the Central Hockey League understand that challenge and have made a commitment to bring some of that joy back into our children’s lives every day. This financial support will make a tremendous impact on thousands of children through Starlight’s programs both in and out of the hospital throughout the US and Canada.”
Fans are also able to donate money to the program through www.hattricksforkids.org. A running total of the number of hat tricks recorded and the number of dollars raised will be kept all season long on the program’s site (www.hattricksforkids.org).

The assistance may be in the form of toys during the holidays, clothing or educational supplies for the school year, financial assistance for medical facilities and organizations, funding to support outings to stimulate children’s imaginations and opportunity to engage in activities they may not otherwise experience. The name “Hoffen” is German for “hope”. For more information, visit the organization’s website at www.hoffenfoundation.org.
