TULSA’S MICHEL BEAUSOLEIL NAMED SHER-WOOD/CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The Central Hockey League announced today that Michel Beausoleil of the Tulsa Oilers has been named the Sher-Wood/Central Hockey League Player of the Month for the month of November/2008. Beausoleil will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed portable DVD player, courtesy of Sher-Wood, to recognize his accomplishment.
Beausoleil, 28, led the league in points (23) during the month and was an impressive +9 on a team that won just four games. The Montreal, Quebec native scored seven goals (two game winners) with 16 assists in 12 games. Beausoleil notched at least a point in all 12 Oilers games during November and currently has a 14-game point streak, the second longest in the CHL this season (Laredo’s Jeff Bes is at 15 games). The 5-10, 175-pound forward currently ranks among the top 10 in the league with 25 points and is tied for fourth with 18 assists. His best game of the month came on November 14th in a 6-5 road win versus Colorado where he scored two goals, including the game winner, with three assists.
The Oilers have yet to catch their stride in the 2008-09 season sitting with a 4-10-2 record. Tulsa has been solid in their new home, the BOK Center, posting a 3-4-1 record.
