Shootout Win Pushes Rays by Bucks
The Corpus Christi IceRays (8-9-2) put an end to the Laredo Bucks (16-5-1) six-game win streak with a 2-1 shootout win thanks to former Bucks goaltender Dustin Traylen who stopped 33 shots and all three shooters he faced in the shootout.

A power play goal in the second period by Chris Richards (has five goals in his last four games) put the Rays on top in a period they dominated outshooting the Bucks 22-5. Ryan Gibb made 21 saves in the frame for Laredo but found himself trailing 1-0 after 40 minutes.
In the third period, Ryan Salvis scored his third goal in the last two nights at the 5:04 mark of the frame. Laredo outshot the Rays 17-9 in the final period but Traylen only faltered on the Salvis tally.
The Bucks appeared to have scored in overtime but the play had been blown dead prior to the puck crossing the line and there appeared to be contact by the Bucks with Traylen.
The game would head to a shootout where the Rays connected three times in four shooters for the win. The game winner was credited to Ryan Bennett, his 12th goal of the season (Mike Zbriger and Justin Quenneville also scored in the shootout.
Corpus Christi finished the game out-gunning the Bucks 49-34
