IceRays 'D' Stings OKC in 2-1 Win
What a debut for the defensive-minded Corpus Christi IceRays (22-25-4) under new head coach Brent Hughes who won his first game behind the Rays bench by a 2-1 score over the Oklahoma City Blazers (29-14-6).
IceRays/Blazers Box Score
Hughes was hired by Corpus Christi this week after they relieved Sylvain Cloutier of his coaching duties.
The IceRays had just 15 shots on goal including just one in the middle period and Kris Tebbs turned away 25 shots earning his 18th win of the season.
Adam Powell and John Adams scored the goals for the IceRays who stay in the hunt for the fifth spot in the Southern Conference playoff race. Adams goal, the game winner, came at the 14:36 mark of the final period with the Rays on a power play.
Doug Groenestege and the Blazers each had their three-game win streak snapped.
