Chris Minard's Name Scripted on Stanley Cup
On Friday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins won their third Stanley Cup defeating the Detroit Red Wings by a 2-1 score in a Game 7. The CHL was represented with the Penguins win as forward Chris Minard will earn a Stanley Cup ring for his role with the Pens.
During the regular season, the Owen Sound, Ontario native played in 20 games with Pens scoring a goal and adding two assists. He spent the majority of the season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League where he had a solid season posting 57 points (34-23=57) in 54 games.
Minard played in the CHL during the 2003-04 season with the San Angelo Saints where he was among the best in the league with 39 goals and 36 assists in 64 games played.
