BUCKS SIGN FORMER RAGE PLAYER MOHR
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks announced Monday that they have signed former Rocky Mountain Rage defenseman Jarred Mohr for the 2009-10 season. Mohr will be entering his fourth professional season, and his second in the Central Hockey League.
The 24-year-old Mohr has played in a total of 180 pro games with the Rage, with the IHL’s Kalamazoo Wings, and the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones, and Pensecola Ice Pilots. In those 180 games Mohr has put up 43 points (6-37=43) and picked up 136 PIM’s.
“Jarred is a very solid defenseman, and he makes his teammates around him better,” said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. “His numbers have improved every season, and we are very excited to have him on our roster.”
Mohr, 5’11, 190, spent last season in Rocky Mountain where he put up career high’s in goals (3), assists (18), points (21), and PIM’s (52). Mohr also had a career best when he put up four points (1-3=4) in the Rage’s 6-3 win over New Mexico on January 9th of last season.
“We have been looking to shore up our defense early, and Jarred is a big key to that.”
In 2007-08 with Kalamazoo Mohr had 12 points (1-11=12) with 32 PIM’s in 41 games, while he split the 2006-07 campaign with Cincinnati and Pensecola putting up 10 points (2-8=10) and 52 PIM’s in 68 games.
Prior to turning pro Mohr played four years of junior hockey in the SJHL with the Estevan Bruins (2002-2004), and the Battlefords North Stars (2004-2006). In his junior career Mohr had 99 points (23-76=99), with 357 PIM’s.
Mohr is the fifth player signed by the Bucks this offseason.
