Holt Advances to NHL, Familiar Voice Kevin McGlue is New "Voice of the Eagles"
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Governors' Cup champion Colorado Eagles announced today that broadcaster Tori Holt has taken a job as a pre-and post-game show host with the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars and that his fellow broadcaster, Kevin McGlue, will be the new "Voice of the Eagles."
McGlue has performed both play-by-play and color commentary for the Eagles along with co-hosting the team's Coach's Show on 107.9 The Bear and the Colorado Eagles NoCo Hockey Show on Altitude Sports & Entertainment. He was an original member of the team's broadcast crew and has been part of the franchise every season except 2004-05 and 2005-06. His familiarity with the organization will be a big asset and ensure a seamless transition.
"I'm thrilled for the opportunity to be The Voice of the Eagles," said McGlue. "I've been very fortunate to be a part of this organization for a long time and I'm elated to take this next step. I'm both thankful and excited."
McGlue was recently the assistant news director at Clear Channel Northern Colorado and has been a part of Colorado State University's football broadcasts for eight years. He has also filled in as a studio analyst for Colorado Avalanche games on Altitude and acted as a regional reporter for CNN. In addition to his radio and television duties, McGlue also handles the team's community foundation and assists in the corporate development department.
"Kevin McGlue brings an enormous amount of experience and tremendous professionalism to not only our organization but to the broadcast booth as well," said Colorado Eagles President & General Manager Chris Stewart. "Our fan base and all of Northern Colorado are familiar with him, and his familiarity with our team in particular will be a big advantage. We're excited for Tori Holt to take the next step in his career and we're excited for Kevin McGlue to take his next step with us as well."
Holt was the team's original radio play-by-play broadcaster and expanded his horizons in recent years by also working in television with Altitude and Fox Sports Rocky Mountain. For the past two seasons, the Burnsville, Minn. native called play-by-play for all Eagles TV broadcasts and acted as a studio analyst during select Avalanche games.
"I'm proud to have been a part of such a successful organization for the past six years. I have memories that can't be taken away from me," said Holt. "I'm also excited to take the next step in my career and I'm lucky to have been in a place that has prepared me for that step."
