RiverKings Can Take Only a Point on Dumont's Big Night
The RiverKings felt like celebrating on Friday night as veteran forward Louis Dumont was reaching a historic milestone playing in his 1,000th professional game but it was the visiting Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs who did the celebrating at the end as Simon Mangos scored an overtime goal giving the Mudbugs the 3-2 victory and a three-game winning streak.
Mississippi started things off in the first period with Kevin Jarman scoring his fourth goal of the season and first since October 23rd but the Mudbugs would score the next two goals with Joe Blaznek and David Pszenyczny finding the back of the net taking a 2-1 lead.
Darrell Stoddard’s first goal of the season was a big one midway through the third period tying the game and ultimately earning a point for Mississippi as they fell in the extra session.
Ken Carroll won his second straight start making 45 saves in the game.
