The Mavs built a 3-1 lead behind two first period goals from Nick Sirota and Simon Watson. Sirota finished the game with a goal and two helpers and was a +5.
Mavs goaltender Alexandre Vincent made 31 saves moving to 3-0-1 in the New Year.
Missouri newcomer, signed earlier this week and playing in his first game, recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick with a goal, assist and a fight.
The two teams play again on Saturday in Missouri.
