Rush Win Third in a Row Over Amarillo
You can call them the ‘first place’ Rapid City Rush (25-9-1, 51 points) after Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over the Amarillo Gorillas (15-18-6) at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena. The win is the third straight for the Rush and the third straight over the Gorillas.
Luke Erickson scored a pair of third period goals for the Rush including the game deciding goal with just 1:25 remaining. Former Gorilla Scott Wray scored the other goal for Rapid City.
Erik Felde and Gordon Bell scored the goals for Amarillo who were outshot in the game 49-30.
Mike Brown was strong in net making 46 saves but it wasn’t enough as Danny Battochio’s 28 saves earned him his 15th win of the season and 12th straight ‘w’.
The two teams meet again tomorrow night in South Dakota.
