Groenestege and Sundogs Hand Eagles Rare Home Loss
Doug Groenestege and the Arizona Sundogs ended their three-game slide and at the same time continued their strong road play with a 4-3 victory in Colorado versus the Eagles. Groenestege made 39 saves leading the Sundogs despite being outshot 42-25. The loss is just the sixth of the season for Colorado at the Budweiser Events Center.
Riedel Pulls Oilers Closer to RiverKings
Dan Riedel scored a power play goal in overtime leading the Tulsa Oilers to a 3-2 OT win versus the Mississippi RiverKings. Riedel finished with a goal and an assist. Trevor Cann made 31 saves and T.J. Caig scored his 21st goal of the season helping Tulsa pull to within a point of the RiverKings for fourth place in the Northern Conference.
Woollard Hits 30-Goal Mark
Chad Woollard scored his league-leading 30th goal of the season helping the IceRays to a 5-3 road win versus Rio Grande Valley. Chris Richards and Morgan MacLean scored third period goals breaking a three all tie and in the meantime moving Corpus Christi past the Bees into fifth place in the Southern Conference standings.
