Mudbugs Mangos Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week


OAKLEY CENTRAL HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK ANNOUNCED
Bossier-Shreveport’s Simon Mangos Wins Weekly Award

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipient for the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending February 14, 2010 is defenseman Simon Mangos of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.

Mangos finished a strong week with nine points (3-6=9) in four games.  The steady defenseman helped the Mudbugs to three wins in those four games and was the main catalyst in the ‘Bugs 6-1 win at Mississippi on Tuesday, a game that saw him score a goal and have three helpers.  The Cambridge, Ontario native followed that up by scoring two goals in a 38 second span of Thursday’s 3-1 win at Missouri.  His second goal served as the game winner.  On the season, Mangos is tied for third among defensemen with 36 points (10-26=36).  Mangos joins Odessa’s Philippe Plante and Colorado’s Aaron Schneekloth as blue liners that have won the weekly honor.
 
In recognition of his achievement Mangos will receive a special gift from Oakley.
