The Tulsa Oilers will have a second round NHL draft pick in the line-up tonight at Colorado as the Colorado Avalanche have assigned forward Tom Fritsche to the Oilers, the Avalanche’s CHL affiliate.
Fritsche was selected #47 overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft after a successful college career at The Ohio State University. The Parma, Ohio native played 138 games for the team in Columbus, Ohio with his best season coming during his freshman year (11-34=45), the 2004-05 season.
Since turning pro, Fritsche has played three seasons with the Lake Erie Monsters, the AHL affiliate of the Avalanche, compiling 35 points (12-23=35) in 110 games.
Fritsche is the younger brother of Dan Fritsche who has played in 256 career NHL games and is playing in Sweden this season.
