Friday night featured several fantastic finishes including a 5-4 shootout win in Rio Grande Valley, a 6-5 win by Evansville and a 4-3 triumph by Mississippi.
The Killer Bees knocked off the Odessa Jackalopes 5-4 in a game that went 16 rounds in the shootout before Brett Wilson knocked home the game winner. Juliano Pagliero finished with 37 saves and stopped 14 of 16 shooters in the shootout.
The IceMen came roaring back ending Quad City’s three-game win streak as they scored three unanswered goals in the third period. The game winner came with just seven seconds remaining as Damian Surma earned the hat trick.
In Mississippi, Derek Landmesser ended the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs four-game win streak scoring with just over four minutes remaining in regulation. Matt Boyd had a goal and an assist for the RiverKings and Travis Clayton scored a pair of goals for the Mudbugs.
