The Dayton Gems mved into a tie for fourth place in the Turner Conference on Tuesday night thanks to a 4-3 overtime win over the Evansville IceMen at Hara Arena.

Mike Vaskivuo scored in the second period, third period and early in over time netting the hat trick and nearly single-handedly leading the Gems offense. The young forward now has nine goals on the season and a team leading 23 points.
Jeff Jakaitis made 32 saves improving to 12-9-1 on the season.
Evansville finishes their six-game road trip with just one win (1-3-2) but did manage points in each of thier last three games (1-0-2).
Damian Surma and Nicklas Lindberg each struck gold in the first period giving the visitors a 2-0 lead after one period but Vaskivuo's second period shorthanded marker and stike halfway through the final period tied things up for Dayton.
Lee Zalasky regained the lead for Evansville but new addition Brandon Naurato scored for the fifth straight game tying him with two other skaters for the longest goal scoring streak of the season.
Matt Lundin made 31 saves but took the OTL for the IceMen.
