In a Ray Miron Presidents’ Cup Finals re-match, the Rapid City Rush doubled-up the visiting Allen Americans 4-2 in the final game for both teams before the all-star break.
Box Score
In what must have seemed familiar, Scott Wray did in the Americans scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist (it was Wray who scored the cup-winning goal for the Rush last spring).
The Rush scored four times in the first seven and a half minutes of the game running goaltender Scott Campbell who allowed three of the four goals against before Adrien LeMay came and settled things down for Allen.
Konrad Reeder and Kevin Harvey joined Wray on the score sheet for the Rush whose goals all came even-strength. Ryan Menei had two assists in the game.
Danny Battochio made 21 saves earning the win.
Dave Bonk and Jarret Lukin scored the goals for the Americans who despite the loss head into the break with the best record in the CHL at 24-7-1 and who lose on the road for the first time since late November and for just the third time all season.
