Colorado’s Kyle Jones Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

Kyle Jones has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 6, 2011.

Jones won all three of his starts last week and has been one of the catalysts of the Eagles current seven-game win streak. The North Delta, British Columbia native stopped 76 of 80 shots on the week, good for a. 950 save percentage, and allowed just four goals (1.34 GAA). He started the week with a 15-save effort in a 4-2 win at Missouri on February 2 and then won back-to-back starts in Odessa over the weekend. Jones allowed just one goal in each game and was particularly sharp in Colorado’s 2-1 win on Friday night (35 saves).
CHL Goaltending Leaders
The starter of the CHL All-Star team in Rapid City in January is currently tied for the league lead with 20 wins and is carrying a 20-7-2 record overall. He ranks third in the league with a 2.44 GAA and fourth with a .924 save percentage. Jones has won seven straight decisions.
