What a road trip for the Bloomington PrairieThunder (3-0-1 on their four game journey) who maintained the best win percentage in the Turner Conference thanks to a 4-1 victory over the Texas Brahmas at the NYTEX Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon. Bloomington trails conference leading Rapid City by three points but has four games in hand on the Rush.

Bloomington extended their point streak to 10 games going 7-0-3 over that stretch and in the meantime became the fourth CHL team and third Turner team to clinch a playoff berth (thanks in part to Evansville’s loss to Quad City on Sunday night). The trip to the post-season will be the first in the franchise history of the PrairieThunder.
Texas scored the game’s first goal with Greg Hogeboom scoring his 11th goal in his last seven games which held up throughout the first period giving the Brahmas a 1-0 lead after one period.
In the second period, the PThunder came storming back with Jon Booras and Brett Holmberg each scoring even strength goals giving goaltender Brad Phillips the 2-1 lead after two periods.
In the third period, Bloomington would add to their lead with Booras scoring his second of the game and Jason Deleurme scoring on the power play.
Phillips finished with 23 saves earning the win.
