Troy Schwab seemed genuinely surprised that word of his newly acquired nickname —"Pit Bull" — had leaked to the public.
Asked about the handle following the Thunder's playoff victory Wednesday night, Schwab rolled his eyes, forced a grin and explained that coach Kevin McClelland referred to him as a pit bull in a team meeting two weeks ago.
"I haven't heard the end of it since," Schwab said. "The boys like it, so I guess it stuck. It could be worse."
While Schwab may be ambivalent about the nickname, it is certainly meant as a compliment.
At 5-foot-8, the second-year pro is the Thunder's smallest player, but he plays with an unyielding, ferocious style.
