The Texas Brahmas made a big splash on Tuesday when they brought back forward Chad Woollard, re-signing the 2010-11 goal scoring champion. It will be Woollard’s seventh season with the Brahmas.
The Durham, Ontario native played in Fort Worth from 2000-2005 and then returned to the team last season. In 65 games, Woollard scored a league-best 46 goals to go along with his 46 assists (92 points). He also contributed nine power play goals, eight game winning goals and won the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year Award.
“Bringing Woolley back was key in our efforts to have a strong offensive team,” said Dan Wildfong, Brahmas Head Coach. “It is a certain level of comfort we receive with Chad on the ice; he is a special player who can get things done.”
All-time, Woollard ranks 11th on the league’s all-time goal scoring list with 255 scores and needs just 21 goals to break into the league’s all-time top 10 goal scorers. For the Brahmas, the 6-3, 210-pound forward leads the franchise with 532 games played, 400 points, 178 goals, 1,287 shots, 23 game winning goals and 50 power play goals.
During the 2010-11 campaign, Woollard reached several milestones playing in his 700th professional game and scoring his 700th professional point.
