(Courtesy of the Laredo Bucks) LAREDO, Texas The Laredo Bucks announced that they have signed goaltender Kevin Dziaduck (jaw-duck) to a contract for the 2005-06 CHL season. Dziaduck, 511 175-pounds, played last year with Yorkton Terriers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He compiled a regular season record of 22-13-2, with a save percentage of .911 and a goals allowed of 2.51. Dziaduck was third in wins, fourth in goals allowed average and sixth in save percentage. He also played four games with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League.
I got a tip about Kevin from a coach in the Western Hockey League, said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. He is a very good under pressure. I like to groom young kids to eventually become number one goalies. I think he is a real good fit to bring in and tutor.
Yorkton captured the Credential Cup as the SJHL playoff champions and Dziaduck was selected as the SJHL Playoff MVP. He went 15-6 in the post-season with a .924 save percentage that was second highest and a 2.41 goals allowed average that was third best.
The 21 year old goalie from Buchanan, Saskatchewan also had post-season success in 2004. He helped the Kindersley Klippers reach the Finals of the Royal Bank Cup. For his efforts he was selected as the tournament MVP.
