Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs owners Tommie and Leslie Scott would have relished handing out championship rings to their coach, players and staff as the Mudbugs faithful cheered.
The harsh realities of the business side of professional sports intervened, however, forcing the Scotts to shutter the Mudbugs franchise just days after Bossier-Shreveport defeated the Colorado Eagles in Game 7 of the 2011 Ray Miron President’s Cup Finals.
There would be no 15th season for the Mudbugs. Nobanner-raising, no ring ceremony.
