Fogal Returns to Mallards on Five-Game Contract
Lang Activated
MOLINE, Ill. (December 22, 2011) – Goaltender Brad Fogal has signed a five-game contract with the Quad City Mallards and forward Mickey Lang has been activated from injured reserve, the Mallards announced today.
Fogal, 25, rejoins the Mallards after being waived by the Flock earlier this week. Because Fogal has been inked to a five-game contract, the Mallards are able to add the rookie to their roster as a third goaltender along with David Brown- who signed with Quad City earlier this week- and David McKee.
The 5’ 10”, 170-pound Fogal has gone 5-2-0 with a 3.24 goals against average and a .902 save percentage in nine games with the Mallards this season.
Fogal last season finished a standout four-year career at Adrian College as the Division III record holder for most career wins. As a senior, the Sharon, Ontario, native went 25-4-1 with a 2.23 goals against average and a .923 save percentage in 30 games while helping Adrian to a fourth straight Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association title, a second consecutive NCAA Frozen Four appearance and a berth in the Division III national title game. Over his four seasons at Adrian, Fogal posted a 2.04 goals against average, a .922 save percentage and 15 shutouts while going 93-11-2 in 106 games.
Lang returns from I.R. after missing the Mallards’ last five games. The 25-year old rookie has scored two goals and totaled four points in 19 games this season.
