Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs forward Scott Sheppard, the Central Hockey Leagues reigning Oakley Player of the Week and the League leader in both goals (18) and power play goals (10) has been called up by the Rochester Americans, the Mudbugs American Hockey League affiliate. Sheppard is expected to play Friday and Saturday evening with the Americans as they visit the Manitoba Moose. The Moose also have a CHL player on their roster in Oklahoma City goaltender Sebastien Centomo, now 2-0-0 with a 1.44 goals against average in two games with the club.
Through 15 games this season, Sheppard has amassed 18 goals and has failed to score in just four contests. At the time of his promotion, Sheppard had scored in his last five outings, scoring a total of 10 times.
