When more than 10,000 fans are packed into Intrust Bank Arena for a Thunder hockey game, their collective groaning is magnified.
So, too, is the volume of their postgame cheers, as Wichita finally found out on Sunday night.
After losing in front of the four largest-ever crowds to see the team, the Thunder broke that trend by rallying to beat Missouri 4-2 in front of 10,214 fans. The Thunder trailed going into the third period, but scored three goals in the third to make the final score appear more one-sided than it actually was.
During the last two weekends, Wichita lost in front of the two biggest crowds of the year.

"It is a coincidence — I know I’ve heard rumblings for years that guys don’t play well in front of (lots of people), but I don’t think that’s it. But end of story, we won tonight and sent them home happy."
