BRAHMAS SIGN VETERAN GOALTENDER KEN CARROLL
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 8) – The Texas Brahmas announced today that the team has signed CHL-stalwart goaltender Ken Carroll.
Carroll is no stranger to the Brahmas’ organization, having spent nine seasons with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. At the age of 24, the Oil City, Ontario native earned WPHL Most Outstanding Goaltender and Rookie of the Year honors for the 2001-02 season, posting a 27-9-1 record with a 1.89 goals against average and .935 save percentage. Carroll then went 11-2-0 in the playoffs en route to the Mudbugs’ third consecutive President’s Cup Championship.
The long-time Mudbug is the CHL’s all-time leader in shutouts (31) and second in league history in victories (187). Carroll is also the only goaltender to be named to six CHL All-Star Games.
The 5’10’’, 175-pound netminder will back up 2012 All-Star Mark Guggenberger, who currently leads the league in goals against average (1.87) and save percentage (.927).
