CHL Announces Online Video Package

    The Central Hockey League has today announced completion of an agreement with industry technology leaders Infinity Pro Sports and EyeCentric Media to provide online game video for selected CHL games the remainder of the season. Beginning with the upcoming Dodge All-Star Game on Thursday, January 23rd in Oklahoma City, a total of 66 regular season CHL games will be available to interested viewers.

    Earlier this season, a live online broadcast was held for a contest between the defending Memphis RiverKings and the Fort Worth Brahmas, and met with significant success, leading to today’s announcement. Broadcasts will be available from five different locations across the Central Hockey League, including Oklahoma City, Memphis, Bossier-Shreveport, Lubbock and Laredo.

    Each game broadcast will include a live audio feed from the contest, and will be displayed in conjunction with Pointstreak Pro, the CHL’s real time scoring system that has drawn outstanding reviews this season.

    “Based on the feedback we received earlier in the season, live online game video was definitely something our fans were in full support of,” said Steve Cherwonak, Vice President of Communications. “We are confident that this program will lead to a more comprehensive game package in future seasons, and with the outstanding technology used by Infinity and EyeCentric, will deliver a tremendous product to our fans.” Information on game packages and software requirements will be available via www.centralhockeyleague.com .

    In Central Hockey League All-Star news, defenseman Hardy Sauter, selected by voters to start for the Northern Conference All-Stars, will not participate due to injury. Replacing Sauter on the roster will be teammate Peter Robertson, while Bernie John of the Indianapolis Ice will now start. All-Star festivities begin Wednesday afternoon with the CHL Media Luncheon, followed by the All-Star Banquet that evening. Following team practices Thursday morning, the All-Star Skills Competition will take place at 6:00 PM, followed by the 2003 Central Hockey League All-Star Game.
