Corpus Christi Rayz goaltender Scott Reid certainly made the most of his latest call-up to the American Hockey League. Reid was called up to the Peoria Rivermen, affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues, for a pair of weekend games in Houston and saw extensive action in both.
Saturday night, he entered the game in relief after his counterpart had given up five goals during the first half of Peoria's
5-0 loss to the Aeros, but Reid held the score and stopped all seven shots he faced in over 28 minutes of action.
Last night, Reid started for the Rivermen, currently third place in the West Division and fighting for a playoff spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs. The former CHL Most Outstanding Goaltender made 32 saves on 33 shots and was named the contest's '#1 Star' in the
3-1 victory. Miroslav Kopriva, a member of the Austin Ice Bats for parts of the CHL's regular season, was on the Houston bench for both games but did not see any action.
Scott Reid has been called up to the AHL a number of times this season, playing for the Norfolk Admirals, Milwakee Admirals, and dressing for the Chicago Wolves. He is now 2-1-1 this season with the various clubs, while marking a record of 15-18-4 for the Corpus Christi Rayz. Reid is a three-time CHL All-Star, but was unable to participate in this year's game because of a call-up during the middle of January.
