Perhaps the Laredo Bucks lengthy pre-game championship ring presentation Saturday night served as motivation for the visiting Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, who bounced back from an early 1-0 deficit to post a 4-2 win at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The shorthanded Bucks were again without the services of several key players, including 05-06 Playoff MVP Jeff Bes, out due to injury.

Serge Dube opened the scoring just 23 seconds in, but it was all Killer Bees from then on. Matt Reynolds scored twice for the Bees, while Kurtis Dulle added both a goal and an assist. Steve Weidlich brought the Bucks within a goal later with goaltender Nathan Marsters pulled, but Mark OLeary closed out the scoring with an empty net tally.
Austin 2 @ Corpus Christi 3 (OT)
Justin Quenneville paced the Rayz to their first win of the season, scoring both the game tying and game winning goal in overtime. Jean Francois Picard and John McNabb handled the Austin scoring, with the other Rayz goal coming shorthanded off the stick of Ryan Carter.
Lubbock 5 @ Odessa 6
The Jackalopes get a wild first win of the season behind two power play goals from Steve Shrum and a four point outing from Mike Rutter. Lubbock had huge nights from both Bobby Brown and Kyle Nosan, each with a goal and three assists, and Trevor Weisgerber, who scored twice.
Rocky Mountain 2 @ Youngstown 4
The SteelHounds remain the only CHL club with a perfect record, improving to 4-0-0 behind Jeff Christians game winning goal. Dorian Anneck had his second of the for the Rage, scoring on a third period power play.
Bossier-Shreveport 1 @ Memphis 2 (SO)
Karlis Zirnis opened the scoring with his fourth of the year for the Mudbugs, and the RiverKings Ryan Campbell tied the contest at 1-1 later in the frame. After scoreless second, third and overtime periods, Travis Banga potted the game winning shootout goal.
Amarillo 0 @ Oklahoma City 3
The Connors brothers stole the show Saturday, with left winger Marc scoring is first two professional goals and older sibling Sean recording the first shutout of the CHL season with 23 saves.
Wichita 4 @ Tulsa 2
The Oilers remain one of two winless CHL clubs after being doubled up by the Thunder in their home opener. Mike Wiggins and David Beauregard had power play goals for the Oilers, but Joe Blazneks second period score proved to be the difference.
New Mexico 3 @ Colorado 6
The Scorpions fall to 0-3-0 with their second road loss of the season. Greg Pankewicz led the Eagles attack with a pair of power play goals and an assist, while Ryan McLeod had a goal and an assist for New Mexico.
